Customers and Communities at the Heart
Hello
Hear from Matthew Davies, our Executive Director of Development
Matt talks about the work we’re doing in and around the city of Newport, to make our homes and communities more sustainable.
You can find out more about our various projects by reading this latest edition of Customers and Communities at the Heart.
Merger: Melin Homes and Newport City Homes
We are delighted to have started exploring how to merge Melin Homes and Newport City Homes.
The new organisation will provide improved services for customers and residents and enable us to offer greater opportunities to colleagues.
In response to the challenges in the sector, our new 15,000 home organisation will have:
- greater financial capacity and resilience
- an annual development programme of 500 sustainable homes, and
- the ability to respond better to the challenges being faced by our customers, residents, and communities.
Our work has already begun, with input from customers, residents, and colleagues of both associations. Find out how you can share your views on the merger.
The final merger will only happen once several requirements have been met, including the consent of funders and regulators and the agreement of both Boards. We hope to merge in Spring 2025.
Please know that our services for customers and residents will continue as usual throughout this process.
Stay up to date as the programme develops by visiting the merger page of our website.
NCH Strategy 2025
We are now in the final year of our strategy 2025.
Our strategy set outs what really matters to you under three new strategic priorities:
- Customers – Placing our customers at the centre of everything we do.
- Communities – Creating and sustaining communities where people want to live.
- Colleagues – Empowering our colleagues to achieve great things.
